New Vivo Y31 5G May Launch Soon: All Details Revealed

Vivo is set to introduce the Y31 5G smartphone in India, according to industry sources. The company, which first released the 4G version of the Y31 in January 2021, aims to expand its Y-series lineup with 5G capability.

Multiple reports cite unnamed company insiders and technology blogs, including PassionateGeekz, indicating a launch date announcement is imminent. Details on pricing and availability remain under wraps, but industry analysts expect Vivo to position the Y31 5G in the budget-friendly mid-range segment.

The original Y31 model features a 6.58-inch full HD+ display, a 5,000 mAh battery and a 48-megapixel triple rear camera system. It runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 processor paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, priced at Rs 16,490 for the base configuration.

Early comparisons point to performance gains in the 5G variant. Rival models, such as the Vivo Y30 5G introduced in global markets in July 2022, use the MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset and share a 5,000 mAh battery. That device offers a 50-megapixel dual rear camera and an 8-megapixel front sensor on a 6.51-inch HD+ display, along with gaming features including Ultra Game Mode 2.0 and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.

Alongside the India launch of the Y31 5G, Vivo has teased the Y400 series with a release slated for Indonesia on Aug. 4. The Y400 will feature a 6.67-inch 120Hz AMOLED screen, a 6,000 mAh battery and a dual rear camera led by a 50-megapixel Sony IMX852 sensor. The handset will carry IP68 and IP69 ratings and support Google Circle to Search, AI transcription and Windows integration.

Vivo has not confirmed specifications or launch plans. The company typically announces product details via its official channels shortly before market release.
